Promoting your blog or business on Pinterest requires building a solid presence on the platform. While Pinterest is an excellent marketing tool, consistency in posting new content is key to success.
Building a substantial pin collection is essential for seeing results. An account with just 100 pins may not yield significant success, but one with thousands of strategically placed pins can thrive.
But you might be thinking, “Thousands of pins? That’s not possible!“
And you’re absolutely right! It’s not realistic to manually handle such a massive amount.

Copying Pins to Other Boards: Repinning
On Pinterest, you can share your pins more than once, meaning the same design can be used multiple times. Additionally, you can create multiple pins for the same URL, each with a unique design.
You can then repin (copy) all those pins to other relevant boards, significantly boosting your account growth. Imagine creating five pins per URL and placing them on five different boards. That’s already 25 pins created in no time!
Let’s say you’ve written an article titled “10 Tips for Visiting Barcelona.”
- Start by creating multiple pins for the same URL using a tool like Canva. It’s best to have pre-made templates where you can simply modify the text and image.
- Then, pin all these variations to Pinterest. Always pin each design to the most relevant board and spread out the pins with the same URL over several days or weeks. You can set a different time and date during the pinning process.
- Now, you can start repinning (copying) each pin to other boards (preferably not all at once). To do this manually, open a pin, select a different board that you haven’t used for that pin, and click “Save.”

How Many Times Can You Repin Safely?
A few years ago, you could easily copy your pins to up to 10 different boards without any issues. However, Pinterest has made it clear that they prefer a more moderate approach to repinning. They encourage new designs on the platform, as these always receive the most visibility in search results.
So, it’s essential to regularly post fresh pins.
Repinning primarily helps spread your pins and grow your account.
If you have a travel account, you might have boards titled “Vacation Spain,” “City Trips,” and “Travel Tips Europe.” Your pin about “10 Tips for Visiting Barcelona” would fit perfectly on all these boards.
It would be a shame not to repin them to boards that align with your pin’s topic when you have the opportunity!
Why You Need a Pinterest Scheduler
But how can you plan your pins in advance and keep track of which pins you’ve already repinned to which boards? That’s where the Pinterest Scheduler and Tailwind come into play.
These schedulers allow you to plan your pins in advance. By creating and scheduling your pins for the upcoming week or weeks on a single day, you’ll save a significant amount of time compared to creating and scheduling pins daily.
Schedulers are a game-changer, saving you precious time that can be better spent elsewhere.
The Pinterest Scheduler is Pinterest’s own planner tool. It allows you to schedule new pins up to two weeks in advance. If you’re using an Android or iOS device, you can schedule pins up to 30 days ahead. In total, you can schedule up to 100 pins.
To schedule a pin using the Pinterest Scheduler, follow these steps:
- Create a new pin as usual by filling in the title, description, alt-text, and URL.
- Click on “Publish Later.”
- Choose a date and time for publication.
- Select a board from the dropdown menu in the upper right corner.
- Click “Publish.”
Once your pins are scheduled, you can choose to publish them immediately or remove them. Please note that you won’t be able to make changes once they are scheduled.
Always pin your designs directly through Pinterest rather than using Tailwind (which I’ll explain more about shortly). Pinterest prefers that you spend time on the platform itself.
Now that you’ve pinned your designs, it’s time to focus on repinning. You can also manually repin without any cost. Simply keep an Excel file with the pin’s URL, the boards, and the dates you’ve repinned the pins.
With this system, you can manually repin a few times each week and keep track of your progress.
An even faster option is using the Pinterest scheduler Tailwind. With Tailwind, you can do more than just repinning. You can schedule new pins, create pins, and join small communities to share each other’s pins. Personally, I use Tailwind exclusively for repinning.
Once I’ve published my pins on Pinterest, I schedule them as repins using Tailwind. To do this, you’ll need to download the Tailwind Chrome extension. Once set up, you’ll see the Tailwind logo when you hover over your pins in the overview of all your pins.
How to Schedule Repins with Tailwind?
To schedule repins with Tailwind, follow these steps:
- Select the pin you want to repin and click on “Go Schedule.”
- In the “Type a board name” field, choose the boards where you want to repin the pin.
- Click “Schedule now.”
- Choose the interval time between each pin. I usually set it to 7 days.
- Click “Set interval” and then “Schedule Pin.”
Now your pins will be automatically repinned to other boards, and you don’t have to worry about it anymore!
