Meet the Blogger: Ekta from Tia Says

As much as I love writing blog posts for you full of blogging, search engine optimization, and Pinterest tips, it’s also important to me to build a platform that helps other bloggers/digital business owners grow as well. As a blogger, it’s important to always find new ways to be visible online and to find opportunities to be discovered by new readers. That’s why I decided to start a recurring item on She Can Blog called Meet the Blogger!

I will interview bloggers/digital business owners about their blogs/businesses and experiences. Who are these bloggers/entrepreneurs, what type of blog/business do they run, what drives them, how do they drive traffic to their websites and what else can you learn from them?

Who are you and what type of blog do you have?

Hi, my name is Ekta Swarnkar. I’m a freelance SEO content writer for businesses in the digital marketing industry. I’m also a blogger at Tia Says. My blog is about blogging and writing tips.

Why did you start blogging?

I started my blog after I found out how awesome blogging is. I like trying new tips and tricks on my blog. So, I began publishing blogging and writing tips to help new bloggers grow their blogs.

What makes your blog stand out compared to other blogs in your niche?

Tia Says is unique because I only share strategies that either I have tried (and that worked out for me) or I have faith in them. It is for my readers only. Moreover, my concepts are experience-based, I put everything into crafting perfect blog posts to help as many new bloggers as possible.

“My favorite part is my blogging community, I love how awesome these bloggers are.”

Which aspects of blogging do you like the most? Which aspects do you dislike so much?

Blogging is super exciting. There are really negligible parts I don’t like about it. But if I had to make a choice then my favorite part is my blogging community, I love how awesome these bloggers are, they help me every time. I have made some real friends just because I started this blog.

I don’t like social media scheduling. I hate having to do it regularly (I’m also bad at it) but I have learned that it’s an important part especially when your blog is new.

Which social media platforms do you use the most to promote your blog posts? And how do you leverage these platforms to attract blog traffic?

Of all the social platforms, I love Twitter and it helps me get a lot of blog traffic. It’s the only one I have been consistent with and it has given me results.

I’ve also started growing my Facebook page to see how it works for my blog traffic.

Which SEO strategies do you use to get more eyes on your content?

I was amazed when I saw one of my blog posts ranking for a competitive term. It was when I had no idea what SEO was but it gave me the inspiration to start learning it.

I’m glad I started learning SEO, just with the beginning strategies many of my posts are ranking. And I know more will rank sooner.

Which SEO tactic has helped you the most to improve the SEO of your website?

Internal linking is absolutely helpful when you are trying to get newly published blog posts indexed. Once a post is indexed it is ranked soon.

So, just after I publish a new blog post I link it to at least 5 old posts and then use the Search Console’s URL inspector to add it to the index priority.

I ranked most of my old posts (back when I had no clue what SEO is) using this trick.

Blogging is good for your career. A well-executed blog sets you apart as an expert in your field.

Any advice you’d like to pass along to beginning bloggers?

I have two pieces of advice actually.

I read a quote by Penelope Trunk, it was “Blogging is good for your career. A well-executed blog sets you apart as an expert in your field.

I loved this quote and agree with her too. People doubt whether they should start a blog or not, I think if they had even the tiniest thought they must go for it.

They are scared of making it perfect. I don’t think that works at all. Because perfection is achieved only after a lot of trials.

To new bloggers, I would say that learning SEO is absolutely worth it. Yes, social media is a great way to get traffic quickly but it’s temporary you need a permanent traffic-driving method.

SEO will help you rank on Google and that’s how you will drive permanent traffic.

What’s in store for the rest of 2021? What can readers expect if they start following you?

Of course, I aim to publish awesome blog tips and tools every week but since I have gained a bit of experience I plan to do a little extra.

I’ll be launching my first ebook sometime in December. I’ve already started working on it.

If readers start following my blog, they will learn everything from how to start a blog, grow blog traffic, write blog posts, and more.
