1. How to use Canva to make money with their partner program
Sign up as a Canva affiliate and share Canva tutorials with your blog readers, Instagram followers, or YouTube audience. Add your referral link, and start earning! It’s simple as that!
The possibilities are endless, and you can get really creative with it. Start making Reels on Instagram with useful Canva hacks, or share in-depth Canva tutorials on your blog. Share those blogs with your Facebook and Pinterest community, and wait for the $$ to come your way! 😉
I run a blog, Sprankel Online, where I mainly write about Canva. My blog posts are found really well on Google, resulting in me receiving many blog readers and commissions every time someone makes a purchase. I also started a YouTube channel, and I share my affiliate links below my videos as well. I’m not really active there, so it doesn’t bring in a lot of traffic, but I believe you can earn quite a lot with Canva if you put a little more effort into it.
In order to grow my affiliate income and get more traffic on my website, I learned how to do proper keyword research in order to rank high on Google, and I advise you to do the same. Ranking on Google is very hard if you don’t have a solid keyword strategy.

2. Make templates for other business owners
New entrepreneurs are born every day. People with a great passion for their product, and their profession, but who oftentimes have absolutely no knowledge when it comes to marketing and creating pretty graphics to promote their products or services on social media. Or they are simply too busy running their businesses and have no time left to create their own designs. This is where you come in with your Canva design agency.
Become a Canva designer and start creating social media templates in Canva for other business owners.
Four tips before you start:
- Make sure you know your ideal client
- Start networking – online and offline
- Create a portfolio that you can show to your prospects
- Be open to unexpected opportunities
I’m not creating Canva templates for other businesses myself because it’s my goal to earn a passive income from Canva. But I wanted to share this option with you because there are many business owners out there looking for your help when it comes to designing professional graphics for them.

3. Create and sell templates
It’s big business to design and sell Canva templates on Etsy right now! Just go to Etsy and take a look at all the planners, journals, social media templates, and printables. If you’re creative with Canva, you can earn an awful lot of money with your own designs, and again, the possibilities are endless.
Pick a niche you want to delve into, open your Etsy shop, and get started! Create your own planners or social media templates, or maybe you’ll create something entirely new that no one is selling there, yet.
Just make sure to direct people to the Canva editor with your templates and that you sell your own work. So you cannot use other people’s Canva designs and resell them. It sounds obvious maybe, and yet there are people out there trying to earn money the easy way. 🙁
4. Become a Canva Teacher
If you know Canva really well, it might be an idea to pass it on to others, in the form of a training or a course; online or offline, one-on-one, or in a group.
Listed below are some ideas for workshops you could give, just to give you a few ideas:

5. Become a Canva Creator or Contributor
Another way to earn money with Canva, is by becoming a Canva creator and creating templates for Canva itself. Even though it’s not so easy to be accepted anymore as a Canva Creator nowadays, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try. If you think you have what it takes to become a Canva Creator or Contributor, you can sign up here.
At the moment, they are accepting a small group of new creators and IF you get accepted, people all over the world may soon be using your templates, elements, photos, or videos. You get a commission per download of one of your designs that people make. And know that the Canva community is incredibly large, there is a good chance that your products will be downloaded many times, too. This is a great way to generate passive income you can eventually earn money with while you sleep.
I am a Creator and recently I became a Contributor as well. Below you can see my profile. 🙂
